Shergold Masquerader

One of our fave LP's was 1979's "Unknown Pleasures" by Joy Division. Bernard Sumner of that band (and later New Order) used the Shergold Masquerader for most of that album. Here are videos She's Lost Control and Transmission with Bernard using that guitar.  You can read about the history of Shergold here.

The Shergold Masquerader was UK's tribute to the Fender Telecaster, but with more tone options as the Humbuckers can be individually coil split and switched out-of-phase. It is a very versatile guitar, but never gained much traction in USA. Eastwood's tribute version will have a better bridge with 6 separate saddles and will be available in black with maple neck. (We do not plan to put the "Shergold Masquerader" text on the pickguard, as it looks cheesy. What do you think?). If we get over 200% funding we can add other colors. Here are the specs:

Basswood Body, Bolt-on Maple neck, Maple fretboard, 25 1/2" scale, 1 5/8" Nut, Zero Fret

Dual Split Coil Open Humbuckers

Volume and Tone Controls

Top: 3-Way Pickup Switch

Middle: (neck) Single Coil, Out of Phase, Humbucker

Bottom: (bridge) Single Coil, Out of Phase, Humbucker

Secure your piece of Joy Division history for a deposit of only $150. Final price for the guitar will be $679 and will include a custom gigbag. Optional Hardshell case $99 extra.
